Eight switches that add screens to the systems already in use. The customer’s own administrator turns each one on and off, and every page below states what its extension does not do before the question arises.
A twelve-person office should not be paying for a container module it has never opened, and it should not have to look at one either. Extensions that have not been bought are therefore not in the navigation at all.
A switch, and the word means what it says.
Software that has not been bought normally stays on the screen indefinitely, greyed out, with a padlock on it and a button that opens a form. AMC took the other decision, and it is the one that decides how the whole product feels to work in.
The menus are not there
No greyed-out entries, no padlock icons, no upsell that opens a sales form. An extension that has not been switched on is not looked at for the next year, and does not need to be explained to a new member of staff.
The administrator does it
No support ticket, call or contract renegotiation is required. The same person turns it off again if it does not suit, which is the part that makes trying one inexpensive.
Inside the existing system
An extension adds screens to a system already in use. It does not stand up a second application beside it with its own copy of the customer list, and there is nothing to keep in step between the two.
What each one is for, in one line.
Every page carries its own list of what it will not do. Those lists are longer than the ones above them on two of these, and that is deliberate.
Containers
Demurrage and detention counted as two clocks, because they start on different events and are owed to different companies. The carrier’s own D&D invoice is audited against the twenty items of 46 CFR §541.6, the thirty days of §541.7 are counted as dates, and a dispute letter is drafted for the forwarder to send.
Insights
Nine standard reports over the records already kept, any of them saved as a view with the user’s own filters, and a Monday morning email that goes out whether or not anybody opens a screen that week. There is no report builder; the export was widened instead.
CRM
Contacts, activity and follow-ups inside the customer card that is already in daily use, and a board of the accounts that have gone quiet. No leads, no opportunities and no stages — in forwarding the quotation is the record, and it already exists.
Partner
What the forwarder owes the agent and what the agent owes the forwarder on one statement, netted at the bottom with every line still showing its shipment. Pre-alerts in both directions, and co-loader statements read back per house.
Connect
QuickBooks in both directions — invoices, credit notes and supplier bills out, payments back, and the invoice on this side flips to paid. Container and air waybill milestones read onto the shipment, and a document read into fields for a person to check.
Parcel
Personal and ecommerce parcels leaving the United States. Prepayment where a refund stays as its own line, de minimis judged for 33 destinations, and five hundred rows pasted straight out of the shipper’s spreadsheet. No carrier labels and no end-to-end tracking, both said in full on the page.
Dispatch
The day’s pickups, deliveries and container moves spread across the forwarder’s own trucks and drivers by a person, with the field app on the other end: scanning, photograph and signature POD, and a queue that holds the scan where there is no signal. Hiring trucks is in SCM and costs nothing extra.
Voice
Scheduling a new shipment, requesting status updates, or verifying tracking numbers by voice.
Only the switches that are on are billed.
Seats are counted once, in SCM — per seat, minimum two. Everything on this page is a switch beside that, and the whole list is on the pricing page rather than behind a form. Party screening is a switch too, and its line reads $0.
Forty-five minutes on a real shipment.
One shipment is taken from quotation to invoice, on a demonstration company or on a copy of the customer’s own spreadsheet, with the extensions under consideration switched on. Difficult lanes are welcome. The session ends with a written quotation.
